Job Title: Senior Accountant
Reports To: Managing Director
Job Overview:
The Senior Accounts will oversee the financial management, accounting operations, and compliance functions. This leadership role involves managing a team to ensure accurate reporting, efficient processes, and alignment with business. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of real estate transactions, financial analysis, tax regulations, and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to the management team and stakeholders.
- Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for the company.
- Monitor actual performance against budgeted targets and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
- Ensure accurate tracking of project costs, revenues, and profitability.
- Oversee tenant billing, rent collection, and reconciliation processes.
- Implement cost allocation strategies for development projects.
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of taxes, including corporate tax, VAT/GST, and property-related taxes.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance.
- Keep updated on changes in tax laws and their implications.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Streamline accounting systems, processes, and software to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Conduct periodic audits and reviews to identify and mitigate financial risks.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of accountants and finance staff.
- Assign tasks, set performance goals, and provide feedback to team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and collaboration within the team.
- Manage relationships with banks, investors, and financial institutions to secure funding or manage loans.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- Master's degree in Finance (MBA) or a related field (preferred).
- At least 8-10 years of experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong experience in the real estate sector, including project accounting, property management, and real estate tax implications.
- Experience with ERP systems and financial management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of real estate accounting principles, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Advanced skills in financial analysis, modeling, and forecasting.
