Position Overview:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Accountant with at least 3 years of experience to join our Finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, including the preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet), trial balance, and other financial reports. Additionally, a solid understanding of Management Information Systems (MIS) and business finance is required to support key financial decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation of Financial Statements:
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Profit and Loss (P&L) Account, Balance Sheet (B/S), and Cash Flow Statements.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of the financial accounts in compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee the preparation of trial balances, including reconciling general ledger entries and resolving discrepancies.
- Business Finance & Reporting:
- Assist in the budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning process.
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas of improvement, supporting senior management in decision-making.
- Provide insights into financial performance, cost control, and profitability improvement for various business units.
- Work closely with other departments to ensure alignment with the company’s financial goals.
- Management Information Systems (MIS):
- Manage and produce regular MIS reports that summarize business performance, highlighting key financial and operational metrics.
- Utilize financial software and MIS tools (e.g., ERP systems, Excel, Power BI) to generate detailed reports for stakeholders.
- Collaborate with the IT department to optimize reporting systems and ensure that financial data is accurately captured and reflected in MIS reports.
- Month-End and Year-End Closing:
- Ensure the timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing of financial records.
- Reconcile all accounts (AP, AR, bank, etc.) and prepare for audits.
- Ensure that all journal entries are recorded and that all financial statements are complete and accurate.
- Compliance & Internal Controls:
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards (GAAP/IFRS) and relevant tax laws.
- Maintain and improve internal controls to safeguard the company’s financial data and assets.
- Assist in preparing documentation for both internal and external audits.
- Taxation & Regulatory Compliance:
- Assist in tax preparation, including VAT/GST, income tax returns, and other relevant filings.
- Ensure the company is compliant with tax regulations and deadlines.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CMA) is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, with specific experience in financial reporting and analysis.
- Hands-on experience with the preparation of financial accounts, including Trial Balance, P&L Statement, and Balance Sheet.
- Strong understanding of Business Finance and ability to interpret financial data for decision-making.
- Proven experience in Management Information Systems (MIS), ERP software, and financial reporting tools (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).
- Skills:
- Proficiency in MS Excel (advanced), including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
- Experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
- Ability to generate and interpret financial reports (P&L, B/S, trial balance, etc.).
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify trends and variances in financial data.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and tax regulations.
- Preferred Skills:
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other BI/MIS reporting tools.
- Experience in the industry of [insert specific industry if applicable, e.g., manufacturing, retail, etc.].
