Senior Accountant

• Job Summary:

ID Milk is seeking a highly competent and experienced Senior Accountant to manage and oversee the daily accounting operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing comprehensive financial statements, ensuring compliance with tax and regulatory requirements, and providing critical financial support to management for strategic decision-making within the fast-paced dairy industry environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting and Analysis:

• Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Conduct detailed variance analysis, comparing actual results to budget and prior periods, and report findings to the Finance Manager.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.

2. General Ledger Management:

• Oversee the accuracy and completeness of the General Ledger, including posting journal entries and performing month-end and year-end closing procedures.
• Ensure timely and accurate reconciliation of all control accounts, bank accounts, and intercompany transactions.

3. Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable:

• Supervise the processing of supplier invoices, expense reports, and disbursement of payments.
• Monitor and manage the collection of accounts receivable, performing aging analysis and follow-up on outstanding debts from key distributors and customers.
• Accurately manage and reconcile inventory stock valuation and associated costs in the GL.

4. Taxation and Statutory Compliance:

• Ensure timely and accurate calculation, filing, and remittance of all statutory dues, including GST, TDS, professional tax, etc.
• Coordinate with external auditors and consultants for timely completion of annual audits and tax assessments.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in accounting standards and tax laws relevant to the dairy and food industry.

5. Systems and Process Improvement:

• Utilize and maintain proficiency in the company's accounting software [Tally Prime].
• Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and internal controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance. A professional qualification (CA Inter, M.Com, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Technical Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Tally Prime or a major ERP system is mandatory. Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling).
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of statutory compliance, taxation, and financial reporting standards.
