Senior Accountant (3 Years of Experience)

Qualification: Ideally an ACCA Member or close to membership (finalist / awaiting membership approval).
Experience: Minimum 3 years in a UK accountancy practice.

Overview

We are looking for a highly capable Senior Accountant who can independently manage a portfolio of clients, review compliance work, supervise junior staff, and provide general advisory and tax-efficient planning guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee a portfolio of clients, ensuring all compliance deadlines for accounts, corporation tax, VAT, and self-assessment are met.
• Review and close fortnightly/monthly bookkeeping and prepare management accounts.
• Provide tax planning support for corporation tax and self-assessment, including the ability to claim relevant reliefs (e.g., where applicable) and advise clients accordingly.
• Review work prepared by junior team members and provide guidance to maintain quality and accuracy.
• Prepare and review year-end accounts, corporation tax returns, and self-assessment tax returns.
• Communicate directly with clients, HMRC, and other stakeholders in a professional manner.
• Assist directors with advisory work and technical queries as required.
• Expertise in Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho, TaxCalc, FreeAgent, and advanced Excel
