Job Title: Senior Accountant (Gold & Precious Metals)

Location: Kochi - Thrikkakara
Reports to: Finance Manager / CFO
Salary : 30,000 - 40,000
Experience : 3-5 Years

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant with proven experience in the gold or jewelry industry. You will manage financial reporting with a specific focus on high-value inventory control, commodity price fluctuations, and hedging strategies. You will play a critical role in tracking metal purity, minimizing wastage, and ensuring compliance with industry-specific regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Inventory & Stock Control: Oversee the daily reconciliation of gold stock by weight and karat. Monitor stock movement between safe, showroom, and workshop.
• Daily Rate Management: Update daily gold rates and revalue inventory based on fluctuating market prices (fixing rates).
• Cost Accounting: Track manufacturing costs, specifically focusing on "wastage" and "making charges" to ensure accurate product costing.
• General Accounting: Manage the General Ledger, month-end close, and preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet).

Requirements

• Industry Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of accounting experience specifically within the Gold, Jewelry, or Precious Metals sector.
• Education: Bachelor’s / Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Proficiency in ERP systems specific to the industry
• Strong Excel skills (managing complex inventory spreadsheets).
• Knowledge: Deep understanding of inventory valuation methods (Weighted Average/FIFO) specific to commodities.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with GST regulations regarding gold and jewelry
