Position Title: Senior Accountant

Reporting To: Management

Location: Lahore, Pakistan (Willing to relocate Out of Country)

Role Purpose:

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the firm’s financial records, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with applicable financial regulations. The role includes end-to-end bookkeeping oversight, preparation of financial statements, management of billing and collections, account reconciliations, and support in budget planning and financial analysis.

Main Responsibilities:

Bookkeeping and Financial Records:

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Record all financial transactions in the accounting system (e.g, Invoices, expenses, etc)
  • Reconcile bank statements and manage general ledger accounts on a scheduled basis set by the Manager

Financial Reporting:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and submit it to the Manager for review.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of tax returns and compliance reports
  • Prepare various financial statements and reports for Manager’s review. Including but not limited to:

1. Daily/monthly payment and settlement statements

2. Profit statements

3. VAT reports

4. Outstanding invoice reports

5. Accounts receivable aging reports

6. Invoice follow-up report from all departments

Billing and Collections:

  • Prepare and issue client invoices, credit notes, trust request, etc.
  • Track accounts receivable and assist in follow ups on overdue accounts
  • Manage trust accounts and ensure compliance with legal requirements

Accounts Payable:

  • Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
  • Manage expense reports and reimbursements for both clients and employee accounts
  • Reconcile accounts payable balances as scheduled by the manager

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
  • Assist in monitoring the budget performance and report variances
  • Assist in preparation of financial data that would help the Manager in decision making and strategic planning

Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Implement and maintain effective internal controls and support any firmwide API integration with other firmwide software related to the firms' financials
  • Support external audits and provide necessary requirements of the General Authority of Zakat and Tax.

Financial Analysis:

  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and variances to aid Manager in producing an accurate reports
  • Provide insights and recommendations for financial improvements
  • Assist in cost management and efficiency initiatives

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
  • 4+ year's of relevant experience

Desired Qualification:

  • SOCPA
  • CMA
  • ACCA/ICAEW

Skills Required:

  • Microsoft office suite
  • The company’s accounting software/ERP
  • Odoo related experience
