Position Title: Senior Accountant
Reporting To: Management
Location: Lahore, Pakistan (Willing to relocate Out of Country)
Role Purpose:
The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing the firm’s financial records, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with applicable financial regulations. The role includes end-to-end bookkeeping oversight, preparation of financial statements, management of billing and collections, account reconciliations, and support in budget planning and financial analysis.
Main Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping and Financial Records:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
- Record all financial transactions in the accounting system (e.g, Invoices, expenses, etc)
- Reconcile bank statements and manage general ledger accounts on a scheduled basis set by the Manager
Financial Reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and submit it to the Manager for review.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of tax returns and compliance reports
- Prepare various financial statements and reports for Manager’s review. Including but not limited to:
1. Daily/monthly payment and settlement statements
2. Profit statements
3. VAT reports
4. Outstanding invoice reports
5. Accounts receivable aging reports
6. Invoice follow-up report from all departments
Billing and Collections:
- Prepare and issue client invoices, credit notes, trust request, etc.
- Track accounts receivable and assist in follow ups on overdue accounts
- Manage trust accounts and ensure compliance with legal requirements
Accounts Payable:
- Process vendor invoices and ensure timely payments
- Manage expense reports and reimbursements for both clients and employee accounts
- Reconcile accounts payable balances as scheduled by the manager
Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts
- Assist in monitoring the budget performance and report variances
- Assist in preparation of financial data that would help the Manager in decision making and strategic planning
Internal Controls and Compliance:
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls and support any firmwide API integration with other firmwide software related to the firms' financials
- Support external audits and provide necessary requirements of the General Authority of Zakat and Tax.
Financial Analysis:
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and variances to aid Manager in producing an accurate reports
- Provide insights and recommendations for financial improvements
- Assist in cost management and efficiency initiatives
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
- 4+ year's of relevant experience
