Job Title – Senior Accountant

Location: Remote (Pakistan) – Supporting Canadian Operations

About Us

Arancia is a rapidly scaling cybersecurity and technology services company supporting clients across Canada and the U.S. As we grow, we require a dedicated Senior Accountant based in Pakistan to strengthen our finance infrastructure, execute day-to-day operations, and support leadership with high-quality financial insight, control, and compliance.

This is a hands-on role responsible for managing internal accounting, executing AP/AR cycles, and ensuring strong financial discipline across the organization.


Key Responsibilities

General Accounting & Operations

  • Serve as the primary finance accountant, executing daily financial operations.
  • Handle AP/AR functions directly to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance.
  • Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, invoicing, and expense processing.
  • Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and audit readiness.
  • Support the CFO/Finance Lead in process improvement, policy implementation, and financial governance.

Accounts Payable (AP)

  • Process invoices, ensuring accuracy, proper coding, and approvals.
  • Execute weekly/bi-weekly payment cycles and manage vendor relationships.
  • Review AP aging, ensure timely settlement, and maintain proper audit trails.

Accounts Receivable (AR)

  • Prepare and issue client invoices, ensuring accuracy with contracts/SOWs.
  • Monitor collections, conduct AR follow-ups, and maintain strong cash-in discipline.
  • Maintain AR aging and support cash-flow planning.

Banking, Controls & Reconciliation

  • Perform weekly and monthly bank, credit card, and clearing account reconciliations.
  • Investigate discrepancies and ensure proper internal controls are followed.
  • Maintain full documentation for audit and compliance requirements.

QuickBooks & Systems Management

  • Maintain the Canadian QuickBooks environment, including COA structure, classes, tags, and reporting.
  • Execute monthly close activities: accruals, deferrals, revenue recognition, and reconciliations.
  • Support system clean-up, financial dashboards, and workflow automation (e.g., Dext, QBO, Wise, payroll tools).

Payroll & HR Finance

  • Process Canadian payroll end-to-end: input hours, salaries, commissions, deductions, vacation, and benefits.
  • Liaise with payroll providers (ADP/Payworks) to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on schedule.
  • Ensure CRA compliance for payroll, T4s, ROEs, and contractor payments.
  • Maintain employee files and act as the primary contact for payroll-related questions.

Sales Tax (HST/GST/PST)

  • Track, reconcile, and prepare filings for Canadian sales tax.
  • Ensure tax coding accuracy within QuickBooks and compliance with provincial and federal regulations.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Prepare monthly financial reports including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and KPIs.
  • Analyze spending patterns, margins, budgets, and forecasting models.
  • Identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Support CFO with board reporting, strategic planning, and annual budgeting.

Vendor, Contract & Compliance Support

  • Maintain vendor contracts, renewals, and cost tracking.
  • Support IT, Ops, and Procurement teams in validating cost centers and renewals.
  • Assist with internal audit activities, documentation, and external accountant coordination.

Qualifications

  • Education: Accounting degree, diploma, or equivalent practical experience (CA, ACCA, or CPA path preferred).
  • Experience: 5–7 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Technical Skills: Strong command of QuickBooks Online and MS Excel (pivot tables, dashboards, modelling).
  • Canadian Experience: Strong familiarity with Canadian payroll, sales tax (HST/GST), and compliance standards.
  • Work Style: Ability to manage workloads independently and ensure high accuracy under tight deadlines.
  • Communication: Excellent English communication skills for working with cross-border teams (U.S. & International).
  • Remote Setup: Reliable internet connection and a secure home office environment.
