We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee and manage all accounting and financial activities of our trading company. The ideal candidate must hold a university degree with a good academic grade in Accounting or Business Administration, possess strong hands-on experience, and have thorough knowledge of accounting standards, financial reporting, and Saudi compliance requirements. The role requires a high level of accuracy, responsibility, and the ability to independently manage complete accounting functions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain complete and accurate books of accounts for all trading operations.
- Supervise accounts payable and receivable, including customer and supplier reconciliations.
- Review and prepare daily, weekly, and monthly financial and management reports.
- Record and review all financial transactions including sales, purchases, expenses, and journal entries.
- Oversee bank accounts, bank reconciliations, and cash flow planning.
- Ensure proper documentation, filing, and internal controls for all accounting records.
- Prepare and review monthly closing, trial balance, profit & loss statements, and balance sheet.
- Manage VAT accounting, return filing, and compliance as per Saudi regulations.
- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, banks, and regulatory authorities.
- Monitor expenses, analyze variances, and support management in cost control and budgeting.
- Ensure full compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and local regulations.
Required Qualifications:
- University Degree with good academic grade in Accounting or Business Administration.
- Minimum 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in a trading company.
- Strong knowledge of general accounting, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
- Proven experience with ERP / accounting software (SAP, Oracle, Tally, QuickBooks, or similar).
- Sound knowledge of Saudi VAT regulations, e-invoicing (FATOORAH), and ZATCA compliance.
- Previous work experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC is highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and accounting systems.
- Good communication skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
- Ability to work independently and lead accounting activities with minimal supervision.
Additional Requirements:
- Strong understanding of trading business operations (import/export, supplier payments, customer invoicing).
- Familiar with Saudi banking procedures and regulatory compliance.
- Immediate availability or short notice period preferred.
