We are seeking a competent and hands-on Senior Accountant with solid experience in financial reporting, Saudi tax compliance, and audit coordination. The role will take ownership of accounting operations, statutory filings, and month-end and year-end closing activities in compliance with IFRS and ZATCA regulations. Experience in the UAE & GCC countries accounting environment is considered an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting
- Handle VAT and Withholding Tax (WHT) preparation, declaration, and submission in compliance with ZATCA
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax auditors, including preparation of audit schedules, supporting documents, and audit reports
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger, bank accounts, and balance sheet accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly
- Manage and monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable, including issuance of tax invoices and AR tracking
- Review expense claims, payment requests, and reimbursement vouchers to ensure compliance with company policies
- Maintain proper original documentation filing in line with local regulatory requirements and internal controls
- Manage fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
- Conduct variance analysis and provide financial insights to management
- Support the preparation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts
- Liaise with internal departments (HR, Procurement, Operations) on financial matters
- Maintain effective communication with ZATCA and stay updated on regulatory changes
- Assist in improving accounting processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiency
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance is an advantage
- Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CMA) is preferred
- Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of IFRS and Saudi tax regulations
- Hands-on experience with VAT and Withholding Tax (ZATCA)
- Experience in audit coordination and statutory reporting
- Proficiency in accounting systems and advanced MS Excel
- Experience in the UAE accounting environment is a plus
- Experience in construction, engineering, or project-based companies is an advantage
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
