Senior Accountant

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to manage the organization’s financial operations, statutory compliance, and donor reporting. The ideal candidate must have strong expertise in tax filing, regulatory compliance, and be highly proficient in Tally Prime. Experience in NGO accounting and donor-funded projects is essential.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management

  • Maintain and oversee the organization’s books of accounts in Tally Prime
  • Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions
  • Manage general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Monitor cash flow and budget utilization

Taxation & Statutory Compliance

  • Prepare and file GST returns, TDS returns, Income Tax returns, and other statutory filings
  • Ensure timely compliance with all applicable tax laws and government regulations
  • Handle tax assessments, notices, and correspondence with tax authorities
  • Maintain updated knowledge of tax laws applicable to NGOs
  • Ensure compliance with relevant NGO regulations and statutory requirements

Donor & Grant Management

  • Prepare donor financial reports in compliance with grant agreements
  • Monitor project budgets and ensure proper allocation of expenses
  • Assist in financial planning and grant budgeting

Audit & Internal Controls

  • Coordinate internal and external audits
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation
  • Strengthen and maintain internal financial controls
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures

Team Supervision

  • Supervise junior accounting staff (if applicable)
  • Provide guidance on accounting standards and compliance matters

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Professional certification (CA, CPA, ACCA, or equivalent) preferred
  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant accounting experience (NGO experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of taxation, GST, TDS, and statutory compliance
  • Advanced proficiency in Tally Prime
  • Strong working knowledge of MS Excel and financial reporting tools

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹13,261.96 - ₹35,000.00 per month
