OVERVIEW

Our client is seeking a Senior Accountant to lead daily accounting operations and key compliance responsibilities. This is a highly detail-oriented, in-building role responsible for maintaining the general ledger, running accounts payable, managing bank reconciliations, supporting tax reporting, and interfacing directly with the client’s CPA firm for annual filings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting & General Ledger

• Own the general ledger and ensure accurate, timely recording of transactions
• Apply strong understanding of double-entry accounting (debits/credits)
• Maintain organized records and supporting documentation
• Produce and record daily sales reports

Accounts Payable (AP)

• Manage the full AP process: invoice entry, coding, approvals, and payment processing
• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
• Maintain consistent, accurate data entry and documentation

Banking & Reconciliations

• Monitor bank activity and manage payment execution
• Perform bank reconciliations and maintain cash visibility

Tax & Compliance

• Prepare and submit required filings, including:
• Sales tax
• Mixed beverage gross receipts and sales tax
• Franchise tax
• Maintain and update spreadsheets/workbooks used for tax calculations and reporting
• Manage administrative reporting and government compliance tasks tied to operating the business

CPA Coordination

• Interface directly with the CPA firm to support preparation of federal income tax returns and state filings
• Provide requested documentation and ensure timely responses and follow-through

QUALIFICATIONS

• Strong accounting fundamentals (debits/credits, double-entry accounting)
• Experience owning general ledger and AP processes end-to-end
• Strong organizational skills and comfort working with high-volume documentation and data entry
• Self-motivated, solutions-oriented, dependable follow-through

Preferred Experience

• Background in small business retail, restaurant, or other sales-tax-driven environments preferred
• Familiarity with sales tax and industry-specific reporting requirements

Pay: $90,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
