Senior Accountant

Location: Oman

We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our Oman Office. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and transparency of financial data, managing key accounting functions, and supporting strategic financial planning and decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA or CA Inter preferred).

· Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a Distribution or Retail business.

· Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.

· Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.

· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

· High attention to detail and accuracy.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and with external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Reporting: Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

2. Financial Analysis: Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement; provide actionable insights to senior management.

3. Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts; monitor performance against budgets and analyze variances.

4. Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and account reconciliations; resolve any discrepancies in accounts payable and receivable.

5. General Ledger Management: Maintain and update the general ledger; record and review journal entries to ensure transaction accuracy.

6. Tax Compliance: Prepare and file applicable tax returns; stay informed about changes in tax laws to ensure compliance and optimize tax efficiency.

7. Audit Coordination: Support external auditors during annual audits by providing required documentation and clarifications.

8. Financial Compliance: Ensure adherence to internal controls, financial policies, and regulatory standards.

9. Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee processing of supplier payments and customer invoices to ensure accuracy and timely completion.

10. Cost Control: Analyse operational costs and recommend cost-saving measures to improve financial efficiency.

11. Financial Systems Management: Use accounting systems and tools to manage financial data and improve workflow efficiency.

12. Team Supervision: Provide guidance, training, and support to junior accounting staff when required.

13. Risk Management: Identify potential financial risks and assist in developing effective internal control measures.

14. Payroll Management: Handle and process employee payroll accurately and on schedule.
