Job Description: Senior Account Executive / Senior Account Manager

Location: Dubai, UAE
Reports To: General Manager/ Managing Director

Role Overview

The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with UAE regulations, and timely reporting. This role requires hands-on accounting expertise, strong attention to detail, and the ability to independently handle core finance functions while supporting audits and management reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Maintain accurate books of accounts on a daily basis
• Record all sales, purchases, expenses, and journal entries
• Ensure proper accounting treatment for inventory, returns, and adjustments
• Review and reconcile general ledger accounts regularly

2. Accounts Payable & Receivable

• Manage accounts receivable, customer invoicing, and collections tracking
• Monitor ageing reports and follow up on outstanding balances
• Handle accounts payable, supplier invoices, and payment scheduling
• Coordinate with sales and operations teams on billing and credit issues

3. VAT & Compliance

• Prepare and file UAE VAT returns accurately and on time
• Maintain VAT records, reconciliations, and supporting documents
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT laws and regulations
• Support VAT audits and queries from authorities

4. Financial Reporting

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Generate management reports including P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
• Assist management with financial analysis, cost control, and budgeting
• Highlight risks, variances, and areas requiring attention

5. Inventory & Cost Control

• Coordinate with warehouse and operations teams on stock reconciliation
• Monitor inventory valuation, shrinkage, and adjustments
• Ensure accurate cost tracking and margin reporting

6. Audit & Year-End Support

• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits
• Prepare schedules, confirmations, and supporting documents
• Ensure timely closure of audit observations

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

• Accuracy and timeliness of financial records
• On-time VAT filing and compliance
• Accounts Receivables aging and collection efficiency
• Accounts Payable accuracy and payment discipline
• Monthly closing timelines
• Audit readiness and compliance quality

Required Skills & Experience

• 4-7 years of accounting experience (trading / distribution preferred)
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations
• Hands-on experience with accounting software (Tally / SAP / ERP systems)
• Strong Excel skills for reporting and reconciliations
