Senior Accountant

<Job Summary>
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team. In this pivotal role, you will lead complex accounting functions, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and support financial reporting processes. Your expertise will help maintain the integrity of our financial data, facilitate accurate balance sheet reconciliation, and drive strategic financial analysis. <Responsibilities>

  • Manage and oversee general ledger accounting, ensuring all entries adhere to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations regularly to verify account accuracy and identify discrepancies promptly.
  • Lead accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Prepare detailed financial reports, including regulatory filings, financial statements, and management reports that clearly communicate financial health.
  • Support internal controls compliance by implementing SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) procedures and conducting audits as needed.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support strategic planning initiatives.
  • Utilize advanced accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms to streamline workflows and improve data accuracy.
  • Conduct technical accounting research on complex issues like non-profit accounting standards or governmental accounting requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on cash management strategies and ensure effective account reconciliation practices.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of financial concepts, regulatory changes, and industry best practices to enhance financial management processes.

<Experience>

  • Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a focus on general ledger reconciliation and financial report writing.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, and regulatory reporting standards.
  • Demonstrated expertise in non-profit or governmental accounting environments is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar tools is essential.
  • Familiarity with technical accounting topics including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, payroll processing, and account analysis.
  • Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation and financial analysis with precision and clarity.
  • Excellent organizational skills combined with strong analytical thinking to interpret complex financial data accurately.

Pay: $80,185.48 - $96,567.46 per year
