Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant position is responsible for supporting the financial planning, budgeting and reporting processes of the company along with support for various accounting processes and deliverables. This role provides insights on processes and key indicators of performance along with identifying opportunities for areas of improvement to enhance metrics in each area.

Qualifications:

Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required (CPA is a plus).

3+ years of recent and relevant experience in an accounting role preferred.

Comfortable working with team members in a dynamic environment.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively.

Problem-solving mentality.

Able to be flexible and work extra hours as needed.

Knowledge in use of all office equipment and computer applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities:

Support the planning and budgeting processes and monitor results throughout the year.

Maintenance of the general ledger.

Preparation of journal entries throughout the month and support the close of each month-end and year end.

Preparation and review of account reconciliations.

Management of the sales tax accounting processes including preparation of sales tax journal entries and sales tax returns (prior experience with Avalara Tax Software is a plus).

Maintenance of the fixed asset schedule along with related journal entries.

ASC 842 lease accounting.

Vehicle fleet accounting and management.

Preparation of vehicle fleet fuel card journal entries and reporting.

Expense vs. budget reviews

Maintenance of current reports and the creation of new reporting via the report writer accounting system tools.

Initial preparation and review of financial statements and other specialty reports.

Support of the year end audit process.

Cross train and fill in for other accounting functions as necessary.

Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Perform other duties as assigned.
