SEA, Ltd. is a nationally recognized forensic engineering firm, with over 55 years of industry experience. We are seeking a Senior Accountant to work in our Columbus, OH headquarters. We are seeking a high-performing individual with the willingness to learn and grow in a team environment. This individual should be organized, detail-oriented and have an ability to switch tasks frequently. The Senior Accountant supports the CFO, Controller, and other members of the organization as needed. This opportunity offers eligibility for the company's flexplace policy, which offers a hybrid workplace option of up to two remote days per week, once trained (training period may be up to six months).
Key Functions and Responsibilities:

Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entry preparation, accrual analysis, and reconciliation of assigned ledger accounts

Maintain the fixed asset subledger, including asset additions, disposals, transfers, depreciation and reporting

Develop and maintain account workpapers for annual financial statement review and audit support

Act as a liaison for accounts payable and purchasing functions

Assist with daily cash management activities

Assist with monthly billing

Manage the preparation and filing of annual property tax returns for multiple locations, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations

Assist with annual company budgets

Serve as a key finance subject matter expert for the implementation and optimization of accounting and finance systems (e.g., ERP, AP automation, billing, asset management, reporting tools)

Assist in implementing and enforcing accounting policies and best practices to support internal controls and compliance

Ability to accept and integrate constructive feedback into job performance

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressive accounting experience

Experience managing month-end closing processes
- Strong knowledge of GAAP financial reporting and account reconciliations

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and complex formulas

CPA or CMA preferred but not required
- Ability to deliver accurate, timely and reliable reporting with a strong attention to detail

Demonstrated critical thinking and problem resolution skills

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Strong initiative, confidence, and drive to achieve results without explicit direction or detailed instructions

Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a positive attitude and the ability to interact effectively across multiple levels of the organization
