Senior Accountant – Job Description

Job Title: Senior Accountant
Department: Finance / Accounting
Reports To: Finance Manager / Controller

Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee general accounting operations, ensure accuracy of financial reporting, and support strategic financial decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, deep knowledge of accounting principles, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage general ledger and ensure accurate and timely postings
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes
• Perform account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
• Coordinate and support internal and external audits
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to management
• Monitor cash flow and financial performance
• Improve and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff

Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) preferred
• 5–8+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a senior role
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP)
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Preferred Skills

• Experience in financial reporting and analysis
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Strong understanding of tax regulations and compliance
• Experience managing audits and internal controls

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED5,000.00 per month
