Senior Accountant

We are a catering company based in Abu Dhabi and we are looking for a Senior Accountant for our Head Office meeting below job responsibilities:-

Job Summary:

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the full spectrum of accounting functions for the catering operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost control, compliance with UAE regulations, and supporting business decision-making. The role requires strong experience in hospitality or catering environments, particularly in cost control and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Maintain and oversee the general ledger and ensure accurate recording of all transactions
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage accounts payable and receivable processes
• Perform bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
• Ensure timely closing of accounts and reporting

Cost Control & Inventory Management

• Monitor food cost, wastage, and kitchen variances
• Conduct periodic inventory checks and reconciliation
• Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) and recommend cost-saving measures
• Work closely with procurement and kitchen teams to control expenses

Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts
• Track actual performance against budget and analyze variances
• Provide insights to management for financial planning

Compliance & Audit

• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and prepare VAT returns
• Coordinate with external auditors during audits
• Maintain proper documentation and internal controls
• Ensure adherence to company policies and financial procedures

Payroll & Expenses

• Oversee payroll accounting in coordination with HR
• Monitor staff-related expenses and allocations
• Ensure proper recording of employee benefits and provisions

Reporting & Analysis

• Prepare management reports including profitability analysis per site/project
• Analyze revenue streams, contracts, and client billing
• Support operational teams with financial insights

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Professional certification (CA / ACCA / CPA) preferred
• Minimum 5–8 years of accounting experience, preferably in catering, hospitality, or F&B sector
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws and financial regulations
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
• Advanced Excel skills
