Senior Accountant

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Dubai, UAE

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to manage and oversee the financial operations of a building material transport company. The candidate will be responsible for financial reporting, cost control, fleet-related accounting, and compliance with UAE regulations including VAT. Experience in logistics, transportation, or construction-related industries is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Manage general ledger, journal entries, and closing activities
• Monitor and control transportation and fleet-related costs (fuel, maintenance, drivers’ expenses)
• Handle accounts payable and receivable, including supplier and customer reconciliations
• Perform bank reconciliations and cash flow management
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and prepare VAT returns
• Support internal and external audits
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis
• Track project/job-wise costing for transport and material delivery
• Maintain fixed asset register (vehicles, equipment, etc.)
• Coordinate with operations team for cost tracking and efficiency improvements
• Supervise junior accounting staff

Requirements:

• 3–5 years of experience, preferably in transport, logistics, or construction industry
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws and financial regulations
• Experience in fleet or logistics accounting is an advantage
• Proficiency in accounting software (Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or similar ERP)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED3,000.00 - AED4,500.00 per month
