The Senior Accountant should lead and oversee accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with financial regulations, and alignment with organizational, operational, and QHSE standards. The Senior Accountant plays a key role in financial analysis, reporting, and supporting strategic decision-making.
Duties and Essential Job Functions
Management:

Support the development and maintenance of a strong company image focused on excellence and customer satisfaction.

Maintain up-to-date professional and technical knowledge in accounting standards and practices.

Supervise and guide junior accounting staff, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in daily operations.

Contribute to team objectives and support cross-functional collaboration.
Technical:

Review and approve journal entries and ensure proper reconciliation of general ledger and subsidiary accounts.

Perform detailed analysis of financial statements, expenditures, and revenue accounts.

Oversee month-end and year-end closing processes.

Monitor financial transactions and ensure accurate recording in the accounting system.

Prepare and review financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.

Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely collections and payments.

Coordinate and support internal and external audits.

Ensure accurate preparation of invoices, statements, and financial documentation.

Analyze variances and provide recommendations to management.

Ensure full compliance with financial regulations, company policies, and accounting standards.

Reporting:

Prepare and present detailed financial reports to management.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
Minimum Job Requirements
Education

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly preferred
Professional Experience

Minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive experience in accounting

Prior experience in F&B or retail industry is an advantage

Experience in a supervisory or senior role is preferred
Competencies Required

Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting

Advanced proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel

Experience with accounting systems and ERP software

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proficiency in English is mandatory; Arabic is an advantage

Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
Required Licenses/Certifications
