Responsibilities
- Manage and prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger analysis to ensure accurate financial data.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and compliance with company policies.
- Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or Workday, ensuring data integrity.
- Conduct detailed analysis of financial statements, supporting audits, and ensuring adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Assist with payroll management using systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro; ensure accurate payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on governmental and non-profit accounting projects, including grant tracking and reporting.
- Perform account reconciliation and review of general ledger accounts regularly to identify discrepancies or errors.
- Prepare detailed reports for management that highlight financial trends, variances, and insights for strategic planning.
Skills
- Extensive experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of GAAP standards and technical accounting principles.
- Proven ability in double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, account reconciliation, and general ledger management.
- Knowledge of payroll systems including ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro for payroll management and benefits administration.
- Excellent analysis skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data accurately.
- Experience in governmental accounting or non-profit accounting environments is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively across departments including human resources for benefits-related processes.
