Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to lead complex accounting functions, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audit processes, and implementing best practices across various accounting disciplines. Responsibilities
- Prepare, analyze, and review journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, and month-end closing activities to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft, ensuring timely processing and compliance with company policies.
- Oversee payroll management tasks utilizing systems like ADP, UltiPro, Kronos or Paychex, including benefits administration and payroll reconciliation.
- Ensure adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) compliance standards across all financial reporting activities.
- Conduct detailed account analysis and reconciliation to identify discrepancies and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation, supporting schedules, and providing audit support related to governmental accounting or non-profit accounting as applicable.
- Support financial reporting initiatives by preparing financial statements, variance analyses, and other reports for management review.
- Collaborate with human resources on HRIS systems integration and data entry related to employee benefits and payroll data management.
- Participate in process improvements by leveraging accounting software such as Workday or Ceridian to streamline workflows and enhance data accuracy.
Experience
- Proven experience in public accounting or corporate accounting roles with a strong understanding of technical accounting concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and general ledger accounting.
- Demonstrated expertise in using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, UltiPro, Kronos, ADP or similar platforms for payroll management and financial reporting.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance requirements and experience supporting audit processes is highly desirable.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to perform account reconciliation, journal entries, and detailed financial analysis efficiently.
- Knowledge of governmental accounting standards or non-profit accounting practices is a plus.
- Excellent data entry skills including 10 key typing proficiency combined with attention to detail for accurate bookkeeping.
- Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly while working collaboratively within cross-functional teams including human resources and finance departments. Pay: $87,547.16 - $105,433.14 per year
