Senior Accountant

Senior Accountant – Construction (Civil/Infrastructure and Commercial)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to support the accounting and financial operations of a civil/infrastructure and commercial construction company. This role offers the opportunity to grow within a dynamic construction environment and contribute directly to financial and operational success.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly financial statement preparation and internal reporting
• Prepare and analyze job profit reports and job cost activity
• Support the monthly close process, including reconciliations and journal entries
• Monitor and reconcile job costs across labor, materials and equipment
• Track and manage inventory, including dirt and road materials
• Maintain equipment inventory and related debt schedules
• Work closely with operations to ensure accurate cost allocation and reporting
• Assist with process improvements across accounting functions

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 5+ years of accounting experience; construction accounting preferred
• Experience with job costing and WIP reporting strongly preferred
• Familiarity with sitework or heavy civil construction is a plus
• Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
