Responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting information by analyzing, recording, verifying, consolidating, and entering transactions for all companies. A Senior Accountant is responsible for multiple assigned accounting sections, any of which may involve greater complexity than areas assigned to other staff members. A Senior Accountant is required to display considerable initiative to achieve deadlines and is expected to identify ways that processes within his/her assigned accounting sections can be further improved or streamlined.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Reconciling sub-ledger to general ledger account balances
- Preparing GL Account and other reconciliations and analysis for Management review
- Supporting the month-end and year-end close
- Preparing financial statements and journal entries
- Assisting with budget preparation and preparing the monthly budget variance analyses
- Maintaining and reconciling fixed assets schedules
- Supervising accounting staff
- For assigned accounting sections, obtain a working knowledge of the areas assigned, other people or processes affecting the accounting section, the process to be completed, the timing involved, and the software used. The knowledge must be included by the company: how duties throughout the company are performed, how transactions originate by area, who approves transactions for each company, and the general flow of information resulting in entry into each company’s books.
- Research and respond to questions or written inquiries from outside parties, other departments, or accounting team members, or refer such party to the appropriate individual, as appropriate.
- Assist with tax packages and financial statement schedules, as assigned.
- Developing and implementing internal controls, identifying weaknesses, and improving processes are also part of the role.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other degree
- 5-7 years of experience in corporate accounting
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP)
- Proficiency in accounting software (Vista Viewpoint or any construction-related software, helpful, not required) + Textura, Procore, and intermediate/advanced Excel skills are important
- The ability to manage competing deadlines and collaborate in a team environment
- Senior accountants also need strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with attention to detail.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
