Senior Accountant (CA)

Senior Accountant will be responsible for managing the company's financial accounting, reporting, and compliance. This role requires a highly skilled professional to oversee accounting processes, ensure adherence to tax and regulatory requirements, and provide strategic financial insights for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring they comply with local, national, and international accounting standards (e.g., IFRS).
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of financial data to senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
  • Oversee tax planning and compliance with local tax regulations, including VAT, income tax, and other applicable taxes.
  • Prepare and file tax returns and ensure timely payment of taxes.
  • Keep up to date with changes in tax laws and regulations.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and reports to management to support decision-making.
  • Analyze variances in financial performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Monitor key financial metrics and implement controls to optimize financial performance.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during the annual audit process and ensure the timely completion of audits.
  • Maintain and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
  • Lead the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
  • Work closely with departments to track expenditures and compare them to the budget, advising on necessary adjustments.
  • Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and resolution of outstanding payments.
  • Manage cash flow to ensure optimal liquidity and financial health of the organization.
  • Lead and mentor accountants, providing training and support to develop their skills.
  • Supervise day-to-day accounting operations and ensure effective teamwork.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement accounting system upgrades or new tools to streamline workflows.
  • Ensure proper documentation and support for all financial transactions.
  • Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analysis as requested by senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Chartered Accountant (CA) Final
  • Experience: Minimum 15+ years of accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and taxation.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
