Senior Accountant

Our company is growing! We are looking to add a Senior Accountant to join our team! The Senior Accountant reports to the Vice President and is responsible for, but not limited to, maintaining the day-to-day accounting functions, accruals, financial statement preparation, and performing general accounting functions, as required.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • All aspects of business accounting – Research, analysis, reporting, bookkeeping, AR, AP, general ledger, administration of quarterly business and payroll taxes, interface with CPA firm, and external audits.
  • Banking - multiple bank deposits, loan tracking, reporting and interfacing with banking authorities.
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts; reviewing for input accuracy and prepare monthly reports and journal entries, as needed
  • Maintain required business documents
  • Prepare annual W-2 & 1099’s
  • Direct dealings with insurance company – vehicles, equipment, building, worker’s comp; claims and payment.
  • Assistance with the annual budget
  • Compile annual reports required for CPA
  • Maintain financial document retention files
  • Deposit and cash reports
  • Prepare and/or review of all expense reports for accuracy and proper expense disclosure
  • Manage filing, maintaining, renewing and reporting requirements of all business licensing in various states
  • Perform other related duties as may be requested by the President or Vice President
  • Monthly sales tax reporting
  • Aid in the collections process
  • Survey operations to ascertain accounting needs and to recommend, develop, or maintain solutions to business and financial problems.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Management
  • Proficient in accounting software (3 years minimum experience)
  • Extensive knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • 3-5 years Full Charge Bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Self-Starter
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Able to complete tasks accurately and timely with minimal supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Thrives in a collaborative, team-based office environment
  • Ability to interface well with staff and external contacts of the Authority
  • Proven ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organizational skills

Certifications & License Requirements:

  • Ability and willingness to obtain licensing through organizations as needed for individual standards as well as company regulations
  • Bookkeeping / Accounting

Equipment Used:

  • Use computers for various applications, such as database management, word processing and spreadsheet development
  • Set up and manage paper or electronic filing systems, recording information, updating paperwork, or maintaining documents
  • Other basic office equipment: photocopier, printer, phone system, etc.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $95,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
