Job Summary

We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to oversee and manage financial operations within a contracting / construction environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience in project accounting, cost control, and UAE financial regulations, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, and Bank Reconciliations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports
• Handle project accounting, cost tracking, budgeting, and financial monitoring across multiple construction projects
• Manage invoicing, progress billing, retention, and variation orders
• Monitor cash flow, expenses, and financial forecasting
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors and ensure audit readiness
• Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations and timely VAT return filing
• Process payroll accounting entries, WPS, and End-of-Service (EOS) calculations
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
• Support procurement and commercial departments with financial analysis and reporting
• Develop and strengthen internal financial controls and accounting systems

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
• Professional certification such as CPA / ACCA / CMA is preferred
• 5–8 years of accounting experience, preferably in contracting, construction, fit-out, or engineering companies
• Strong knowledge of project costing, job costing, and contract accounting
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, SAP, QuickBooks, or other ERP systems
• Advanced MS Excel skills
• In-depth knowledge of UAE VAT laws and compliance
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
