Job Title: Senior Accountant – Contracting Company

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have 5–10 years of accounting experience, with strong exposure to contracting or construction companies. The candidate will be responsible for managing financial operations, project accounting, taxation, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance with Saudi regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements including balance sheet, profit & loss statement, and cash flow reports.
- Ensure all financial reports are accurate and prepared in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Analyze financial data and provide management with insights related to project profitability, cost control, and financial performance.
- Assist management in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial planning.
Project Accounting & Contract Management
- Manage project accounting activities including job costing, revenue recognition, progress billing, retention, and subcontractor payments.
- Monitor project budgets, variations, claims, and project-related expenses.
- Coordinate with project managers to track project costs and ensure proper financial recording.
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and project financial requirements.
General Ledger & Reconciliation
- Maintain and manage the general ledger and ensure accurate posting of all financial transactions.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of bank accounts, supplier accounts, customer accounts, and balance sheet schedules.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable operations.
- Ensure timely processing of invoices, supplier payments, and customer collections.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts.
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and clients regarding billing matters.
Payroll & Tax Compliance
- Assist in payroll processing and ensure accurate salary calculations and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with Saudi tax regulations including VAT, withholding tax, and ZATCA requirements.
- Prepare VAT filings and maintain proper tax records and documentation.
- Coordinate with auditors and tax consultants when required.
Cash Flow & Budget Management
- Monitor daily cash flow and maintain adequate liquidity for operational and project needs.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs and recommend corrective actions.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Support internal and external audits by preparing financial schedules and supporting documents.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls.
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation.
RequirementsExperience
- 5–10 years of accounting experience.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in contracting or construction companies in Saudi Arabia or GCC.
- Strong knowledge of project accounting and construction financial operations.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certifications such as SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, or CMA are preferred.
Skills
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting.
- Knowledge of Saudi VAT regulations, withholding tax, and ZATCA compliance.
- Proficiency in ERP/accounting software such as SAP.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and financial analysis.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Language
- Fluency in English is required.
- Arabic language skills will be an advantage.
Pay: ﷼6,000.00 - ﷼8,000.00 per month
