Senior Accountant - GAAP

Job Summary:

ibex, for one of its global clients, is hiring a Senior Accountant – GAAP & Financial Reporting (Night Shift) to manage financial reporting, closing cycles, reconciliations, and compliance. The role includes preparing GAAP/IFRS-compliant statements, supporting audits and tax activities, and overseeing AP/AR functions.

The ideal candidate will have strong accounting experience, ERP and Excel proficiency, and the ability to lead junior staff and drive process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/GAAP
• Conduct financial analysis, variance analysis, and ratio analysis
• Oversee month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes
• Review and analyze general ledger accounts and journal entries
• Manage account reconciliations including bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and subsidiary ledgers
• Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, and provisions
• Oversee accounts receivable and payable processes
• Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audit processes
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls
• Prepare audit working papers and supporting documentation
• Assist in tax return preparation and filing
• Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff
• Review work performed by staff accountants
• Recommend improvements to accounting processes and procedures
• Participate in budget preparation and forecasting activities

Required Qualifications:

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, local tax laws, and accounting principles
• 4–6 years of accounting experience
• Experience with financial statement preparation and analysis
• Background in audit, taxation, or corporate accounting (preferred)
• Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems, QuickBooks, SAP, etc.)
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Effective communication and leadership skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Team management and training capabilities
