Position: Senior Accountant
Experience Required: 5–7 years in senior accounting roles, preferably in construction.
Salary: 50000-60000
Position Summary
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to manage and oversee the accounting operations of our construction company. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial reporting, GST compliance, budgeting, cost control, and project accounting. The Senior Accountant will supervise accounting staff, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, and provide timely financial insights to management for decision-making.
Experience Required
- 5–7 years of relevant accounting experience
- Proven track record in a senior accounting role within construction, infrastructure, or project-based companies
- Strong knowledge of Tally ERP, GST, payroll, and financial reporting
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Management
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger
- Oversee project-wise accounting for residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects
- Ensure accurate bank reconciliations and cash flow monitoring
- Prepare and review financial statements, balance sheets, and P&L statements
2. GST & Statutory Compliance
- Ensure timely and accurate GST filing and compliance
- Handle TDS, professional tax, and other statutory requirements
- Maintain proper documentation for audit purposes
- Liaise with auditors during internal and statutory audits
3. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Prepare and monitor project budgets and cost reports
- Analyze variances and suggest cost-saving measures
- Work closely with project managers to track project expenses and billing
4. Team Management & Coordination
- Supervise and mentor junior accountants and accounting staff
- Ensure timely and accurate preparation of reports by the team
- Coordinate with project teams, vendors, and clients for smooth financial operations
5. Reporting & Analysis
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to assist strategic decision-making
- Ensure transparency and accuracy in all reporting
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (CA Inter / ICWA Inter preferred)
- Diploma/Certification in Tally ERP, GST, or accounting software is an advantage
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in construction accounting, project accounting, and financial reporting
- Proficient in Tally ERP, MS Excel, and accounting software
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Knowledge of taxation, GST, and statutory compliance
- Attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines
