We are seeking highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Accountants with strong logistics and claims review experience to support a short-term project in Qatar. The selected candidates will be responsible for conducting in-depth financial reviews, validating claims, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of logistics-related financial documentation.
This role requires strong analytical capabilities, hands-on exposure to logistics and supply chain operations, and the ability to identify discrepancies, unsupported costs, and compliance gaps.
- Perform detailed financial verification and reconciliation of transactions, claims, and supporting documentation
- Review and assess reimbursement claims, ensuring compliance with eligibility criteria, policies, and contractual terms
- Analyze logistics-related documents and costs, including invoices, freight charges, shipping documentation, and payment records
- Evaluate supporting evidence such as bills of lading, customs declarations, shipment records, and proof of delivery
- Identify and investigate discrepancies, anomalies, unsupported expenses, and documentation gaps
- Prepare clear and structured financial reports, findings, and exception summaries
- Conduct data analysis using large datasets, ensuring completeness and accuracy of financial information
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and project teams to resolve queries and ensure timely delivery of outputs
- Support audit, compliance reviews, agreed-upon procedures, or forensic investigations, as needed
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Economics, Business Administration, or a related
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience in finance, accounting, or audit roles
- Proven experience in financial review, reconciliations, documentation validation, and reporting
- Hands-on experience in logistics, shipping, commodity trading, supply chain, or import/export operations
- Strong understanding of:
- Logistics cost structures and freight charges
- Supply chain processes and operations
- Incoterms (e.g., FOB, CIF, EXW)
- Experience reviewing:
- Logistics invoices and cost allocations
- Shipping and customs documentation
- Payment evidence and shipment records
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
- Pivot Tables
- Lookups (VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP)
- Data analysis and reconciliation of large datasets
- Exceptional analytical and investigative skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to identify financial irregularities and risk areas
- Effective problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, CMA, CA, or CIA
- Prior experience in:
- Claims review and financial screening
- Audit or agreed-upon procedures engagements
- Forensic accounting or compliance reviews
