Senior Accountant (Part-Time Reliever) – Transportation Company

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our transportation company on a part-time reliever basis. The successful candidate will support the finance department during staff leave periods, ensuring the smooth execution of accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day accounting transactions and general ledger activities.
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
  • Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
  • Perform bank, supplier, and customer account reconciliations.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support payroll verification and related accounting entries.
  • Monitor cash flow and assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  • Coordinate with auditors and provide required documentation during audits.
  • Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to management.
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and filing systems.
  • Handle other accounting and finance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5–8 years of accounting experience, preferably in the transportation, or fleet management industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and UAE VAT regulations (if applicable).
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with ERP systems is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills in English; additional languages are an advantage.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience handling high-volume transactions.
  • Knowledge of fleet-related accounting and cost allocation.
  • Ability to immediately take over accounting responsibilities and ensure business continuity.

Working Schedule

  • Part-Time / Temporary Reliever
  • Flexible working hours based on business requirements.
  • Duration: 1-2months
  • Salary will be discussed upon interview.
