Semi-Senior Accountant - Accounting Firm (Hybrid, Dubai)

We are a boutique accounting and tax firm based in Dubai. We service SME clients across multiple industries including trading, retail, consulting, services, and hospitality. This is a back-office delivery role and you will be responsible for producing final, accurate, month-end deliverables across a portfolio of clients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and finalize monthly bookkeeping for a multi-client portfolio
• Prepare and finalise monthly management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) to a presentation-ready final reports
• Prepare and review UAE VAT returns, ensuring correct classification of transactions and accuracy of supporting documentation
• Prepare UAE Corporate Tax workings and support filing requirements
• Manage month-end close on a fixed cut-off schedule, document and communicate any pending items clearly
• Identify and escalate unusual transactions, judgment items, or technical issues
• Maintain client-specific notes and file documentation

Requirements

• Minimum 2-4 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in the UAE
• Background in an accounting firm, outsourced accounting practice, or multi-client environment — in-house experience only will not be sufficient for this role
• Hands-on UAE VAT experience — must have independently prepared and filed VAT returns
• Working knowledge and experience of UAE Corporate Tax — taxable income computation, small business relief, and filing process
• Strong technical accounting — reconciliations, accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, intercompany entries
• Proficiency in at least one of the commonly used accounting software (Zoho Books, QuickBooks, Xero, Wafeq or similar)
• Strong written and spoken English
• Relevant academic or professional qualification
• Excellent time management and task management skills to plan the work effectively and deliver efficiently.
