Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Accountant – Accounts Payable with proven experience in a UAE-based building contracting company. The candidate will be responsible for managing subcontractor payments, supplier invoices, service payments, and ensuring compliance with contractual terms and UAE regulations. The role requires strong knowledge of construction accounting processes, project-based cost allocation, and ERP systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Accounts Payable cycle for subcontractors, suppliers, and service providers.
• Verify subcontractor payment certificates in coordination with Project Managers and QS teams.
• Ensure proper validation of LPOs, GRNs, invoices, and supporting documents before processing payments.
• Review and reconcile supplier and subcontractor statements regularly.
• Process payments in accordance with contractual terms and agreed credit periods.
• Maintain retention records, advance payments, and payment schedules.
• Coordinate with procurement and project teams to resolve invoice discrepancies.
• Prepare payment vouchers and ensure accurate ledger postings.
• Monitor aging reports and ensure timely settlement of liabilities.
• Handle VAT compliance related to payable transactions as per UAE FTA regulations.
• Assist in month-end closing activities and prepare AP-related reports.
• Support internal and external audit requirements.
• Maintain proper filing and documentation for all payable transactions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4–6 years of experience in Accounts Payable within a UAE building contracting company.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting practices (subcontractor payments, retention, WPS coordination, project costing).
• Good understanding of UAE VAT regulations.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Tally, Focus, or similar construction ERP).
• Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good communication and coordination skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience handling high-volume subcontractor payments.
• Knowledge of project cost allocation and budget tracking.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Immediate availability is an advantage.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED8,000.00 - AED12,000.00 per month
