Job description

Clan Investment, a holding Company based in Dubai, UAE with multiple subsidiaries is seeking a Senior Accountant (UAE-based).

Job Purpose: Working closely with the Finance Director, the Senior Accountant will responsible for handling basic accounting functions, maintaining financial records in line with accounting procedures & IAS, carrying out financial auditing procedures, and assisting with the duties of the Finance department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain comprehensive financial operation of all accounting systems and records including purchasing, assets and payroll processing.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of financial reporting systems to insure financial integrity based on IAS and controls.
  • Monitor expenditures, identify variances, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain cash flow by monitoring bank balances and cash requirements.
  • Execute bank transfers to meet expense requirements.
  • Review and authorize check requests & purchase order invoices and advise of potential over-expenditures or misappropriation.
  • Reconcile bank account(s) and verify the bank balance with the general ledger (GL).
  • Ensure month-end and year-end journal entries (JE) for Accounts Payable (A/P), Accounts Receivable(A/R), Payroll and GL, are finalized.
  • Approve cash disbursements by verifying amounts against invoices, authorizing checks and wire transfers.
  • Review monthly billing for accuracy and completeness.
  • Verify employee benefit invoices by validating coverage as per the signed agreement(s).
  • Maintain financial security by adhering to internal controls.
  • Meet mandated publication and filing dates for financial documents.
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual Budget by reviewing monthly budget recaps and highlight discrepancies.
  • Support annual audit by providing timely information to auditors.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by Manager or Department Head

Qualifications

  • University degree in finance or accounting or similar field.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification preferred..
  • Knowledge of KSA tax regulations will be an asset.
  • Financial experience in a multinational Company.
  • In-depth knowledge of IAS.
