Senior Accountant – UK Real Estate & UAE (SAIF Zone)

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage end-to-end accounting, financial reporting, and statutory compliance for a UK-based real estate group involved in property acquisition, refurbishment, sales, rentals, and property management, alongside the group’s UAE SAIF Zone entity.

The role requires regular coordination with UK stakeholders, accountants, and advisors through virtual meetings (Zoom / Microsoft Teams) and demands strong technical accounting knowledge across UK and UAE jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

UK Company & Real Estate Accounting

• Manage full accounting cycle and finalisation of accounts for UK companies.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements.
• Maintain property-wise accounting covering acquisitions, refurbishments, rentals, and disposals.
• Prepare management accounts, cash flow statements, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Coordinate closely with UK management, accountants, and advisors through regular virtual meetings.
• Prepare monthly renovation, re-let, and maintenance costing reports.

UK Tax & Compliance Support

• Support UK VAT compliance, including property-related VAT and option-to-tax matters.
• Assist in preparation of UK Corporation Tax schedules.
• Provide audit support and coordinate with UK auditors and tax consultants.

UAE (SAIF Zone) Accounting & Compliance

• Handle complete accounting for the SAIF Zone entity, including bookkeeping and month-end closing.
• Prepare IFRS-compliant financial statements.
• Manage UAE VAT and Corporate Tax compliance.
• Liaise with FTA, auditors, banks, and free zone authorities.

Cash Flow, Controls & Reporting

• Monitor and manage cash flow across UK and UAE entities.
• Handle intercompany accounting and reconciliations.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Maintain strong internal controls, data accuracy, and reporting integrity.

Requirements

Professional Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CA / ACCA / CPA / CMA or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
• 8–10 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Proven experience handling UK company accounting, preferably in real estate or property-related businesses.
• Experience with multi-entity and cross-border accounting is a strong advantage.

Language & Communication

• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with international teams and advisors.
• Comfortable conducting regular business discussions and reviews virtually rather than face-to-face.

Technical & Personal Skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK accounting standards.
• Hands-on experience with accounting software such as Sage, or similar.
• Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet tight deadlines, and manage priorities across time zones.
• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
