Job Summary:

The Senior Accounting Analyst is a key financial professional responsible for overseeing and managing accounting functions, analyzing financial data, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting regulations. The Senior Accounting Analyst works closely with accounting manager and controller to ensure the accuracy of financial statements, assists with budgeting, audits, and supports strategic decision-making processes through financial insights

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting

  • Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial reports, including balancesheets, income statements, cash flow statements, and other related reports.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS) and regulatory requirements in financial reporting.
  • Coordinate and manage the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Review and approve journal entries, reconciliations, and adjustments.

2. Financial Analysis and Forecasting

  • Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process by providing accurate and data-driven financial insights.
  • Prepare variance analysis reports, explaining discrepancies between actual and budgeted results.

3. Internal Controls and Compliance

  • Design, implement, and maintain robust internal controls to ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data.
  • Monitor compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and relevant accounting standards.
  • Ensure that financial systems and processes align with legal and regulatory frameworks.

4. Account Reconciliation and Close Process

  • Oversee the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
  • Review and approve account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of closing tasks.

5. Audit Support

  • Provide necessary documentation and support for internal and external audits.
  • Liaise with auditors during annual audits to ensure financial reports are accurate and comply with required standards.
  • Address auditor queries and implement recommendations as needed.

6. Tax Compliance and Reporting

  • Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal tax laws.
  • Ensure proper tax reporting and withholding are completed in accordance with regulatory requirements.

7. Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting and financial reporting processes.
  • Recommend and implement changes to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and automation within financial systems.

8. Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and resolve any issues related to financial reporting.
  • Act as a liaison between finance and other departments for financial data analysis and reporting needs.

9. Financial System Maintenance

  • Oversee the management and maintenance of accounting systems to ensure accurate financial data is captured and reported.
  • Collaborate with IT and finance teams to resolve system issues and enhance the functionality of financial system

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance (IFRS, GAAP)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with accuracy under tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., ERP systems) and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and audit processes.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a manufacturing or corporate environment.
  • Experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and audit support.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools is highly desirable.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
