Requirements and responsibilities
As a Senior Accounting Analyst, you will play a key role in analyzing financial data, preparing detailed reports, and delivering actionable insights that support strategic decision-making across the organization. You will partner with controllers and senior finance leadership to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information while driving process improvements and contributing to the evolution of the finance function.
Analyze and interpret financial data across multiple divisions, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to support business strategy.
Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and other relevant regulations.
Develop and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets in collaboration with controllers and senior finance leadership.
Prepare variance analyses, KPI dashboards, and ad hoc reports to support executive decision-making.
Perform general ledger reconciliations, record journal entries, and post allocations and accruals.
Prepare payroll summaries and support payroll-related analyses.
Complete monthly closing activities, including balance sheet and bank account reconciliations.
Conduct month-over-month and budget-to-actual Profit and Loss analysis, identifying and clearly explaining variances.
Collaborate with the finance controller to review financial results, implement process improvements, and document accounting procedures.
Actively participate in internal and external audit engagements, preparing supporting documentation and ensuring accurate reporting.
Assist in maintaining and strengthening internal controls over financial reporting.
Support AR/AP processes and provide analytical oversight.
Contribute to financial integration efforts related to acquisitions.
Assist with tax filings and annual compliance requirements.
Support special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned by the controller.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA designation or progress toward completion is an asset.
3–5+ years of relevant accounting or financial analysis experience, preferably in a corporate, public accounting, or multi-entity environment.
Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS).
Proficiency in NetSuite, QuickBooks, or similar ERP systems.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, financial modeling) and working knowledge of business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI).
Interest in contributing to AI-readiness in Finance, including evaluating the impact of AI tools on financial processes.
Passion for innovation in finance, including automation, data-driven decision-making, and emerging AI applications.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, concise insights for both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in both written and verbal English is a must.
