Senior Accounting Assistant

Senior Accounting Assistant

Financial Reporting | Budgeting | Succession Track

On-Site | Full-Time

Build the Financial Backbone of a Growing Multi-State Company

We are not looking for a basic bookkeeper.

We are hiring a Senior Accounting Assistant who wants to grow into a long-term financial leader within our organization.

This role works directly with the Controller and ownership team in a multi-company, multi-state healthcare services organization, supporting financial reporting, budgeting, payroll, and strategic planning.

You will help transform accounting data into meaningful reporting that drives executive decisions — while also helping build the internal financial structure that supports succession and long-term company growth.

If you want to move beyond data entry and into financial analysis, budgeting, and leadership development — this role was designed for that path.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Maintain accurate general ledger activity across multiple entities
    • Prepare multi-company Balance Sheets, P&Ls, and management reports
    • Assist in building monthly KPI dashboards and ratio reporting
    • Support budget creation, forecasting, and variance analysis
    • Develop weekly accounting summaries (AP, AR, cash position, open items)
    • Assist ownership with financial modeling and planning initiatives
    • Support internal reporting used for strategic growth and succession planning

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in annual budgeting process across multiple entities
    • Monitor budget vs. actual performance
    • Identify trends and cost-control opportunities
    • Contribute to forward-looking financial projections

Accounting Operations

  • Process and reconcile credit card activity in QuickBooks Desktop
    • Review and process vendor invoices with proper GL and class/project coding
    • Reconcile subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger
    • Collaborate with Purchasing and Territory Managers on project coding
    • Support inventory tracking and process improvements

Payroll, HR & Benefits Oversight

  • Process multi-state, multi-rate payroll through Gusto
    • Assist with employee benefits administration and open enrollment
    • Support workers’ compensation claims and reporting

    • Help ensure compliance across multiple states
