Location: Midtown Manhattan, NY

Schedule: Hybrid (4 days onsite / 1 remote)

Compensation: $185,000 – $225,000 Base Salary + Bonus + Comprehensive Benefits


A sophisticated, well-established family office/private investment organization in Midtown Manhattan is seeking a Senior Accounting Manager to join its collaborative team. This position will play a key role in overseeing complex accounting operations across a diverse portfolio of entities and investments, while partnering closely with ownership, external advisors, and internal stakeholders.


The organization offers a highly professional, stable, and team-oriented environment with exposure to private equity, real estate, and broader investment activities. They are seeking an experienced family office accounting professional who is polished, proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating within a high-touch, fast-paced environment.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounting activities across a complex multi-entity family office and investment structure
  • Prepare and review accounting workpapers supporting annual tax return preparation
  • Serve as a primary liaison with external tax advisors and accounting firms
  • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
  • Oversee investment accounting activities with exposure to private equity and real estate investments
  • Review financial statements, general ledger activity, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Assist with cash management, capital calls, distributions, and investment-related transactions
  • Partner closely with senior leadership on ad hoc reporting, analysis, and special projects
  • Mentor and support junior accounting staff as needed
  • Ensure accuracy, organization, and confidentiality across all financial operations


Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
  • 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Prior family office experience is required (PE, HF or Public experience acceptable)
  • Strong understanding of investment accounting, including private equity and real estate exposure
  • Experience preparing accounting workpapers for tax return preparation and coordinating with external tax teams
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through
  • Professional, polished, and personable communication style
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, high-expectation environment

Base Salary : $185-225k base plus additional incentives and benefits
