Senior Accounting Specialist

Wilkes-Barre, PA | Full-Time

Martz Bus is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accounting Specialist to support financial operations across multiple business units. This role works directly with the Corporate Controller and plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll operations, and ensuring compliance with tax and reporting requirements.

This is a hands-on position for someone who takes ownership of their work, thrives in a deadline-driven environment, and wants exposure to multiple areas of accounting in a stable, long-standing company.

What You’ll Do

• Support payroll processing,ensuring accuracy and compliance with federal, state, and local requirements
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Process invoices and support accounts payable activities
• Prepare and support tax filings, including state sales tax and IFTA reporting
• Assist with financial reporting and ensure data accuracy
• Investigate discrepancies and resolve vendor or payment issues
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and reporting efficiency
• Partner with internal teams to ensure accurate financial data across operations

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field — or relevant experience
• 5+ years of accounting experience (payroll, AP, or financial reporting preferred)
• Strong Excel and financial systems experience
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
