Senior Accounts Officer

The Senior Accounts Officer is responsible for overseeing accounts receivable operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and maintaining strong internal controls. This role plays a key part in managing cash flow, supervising billing and collection processes, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to resolve financial matters efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation, review, and issuance of accurate customer invoices in a timely manner.
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
  • Supervise the posting of customer payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers, credit cards) into the accounting system.
  • Review and approve account reconciliations and resolve complex billing discrepancies.
  • Communicate with key customers regarding outstanding balances and negotiate payment arrangements when necessary.
  • Prepare detailed accounts receivable aging reports and present insights to management.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities related to accounts receivable.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
  • Coordinate with sales, customer service, and finance teams to resolve account-related issues.
  • Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and reports.
  • Identify process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce outstanding receivables.
