Senior AI Engineer

Role overview
We are hiring a Senior AI Engineer for our B2B SAAS to own the design, implementation, and scaling of our AI systems across ingestion, retrieval, and agentic workflows.
Key responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain production-grade AI services powering knowledge ingestion, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and role-based AI agents.
  • Architect end-to-end AI pipelines: from connecting to third-party tools and data sources to indexing in vector stores and exposing APIs to product surfaces.
  • Implement and optimize LLM-based workflows (prompting, tools, agents, evaluation loops) for reliability, latency, and cost.
  • Own system design for new AI features, making clear trade-offs between accuracy, latency, and infrastructure cost.
  • Ship high-quality, well-tested code in a modern backend stack, integrating with our existing microservices and front-end applications.
  • Monitor and improve AI features in production (observability, logging, evaluation, guardrails, incident response).
  • Collaborate closely with product and core engineering to translate customer problems into technical roadmaps and implementation plans.
  • Establish and champion best practices for AI engineering, code quality, and security in an enterprise context.
  • Mentor other engineers on AI patterns, architecture, and tooling.

Required qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2–3 years focused on building AI/ML-powered products in production.
  • Strong proficiency in a modern backend language (e.g., TypeScript/Node.js or Python) and experience building REST/GraphQL APIs or similar service interfaces.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs and generative AI (commercial APIs such as OpenAI/Anthropic or open-source models), including integrating them into real products.
  • Experience designing and operating retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) or semantic search systems using vector databases (e.g., Milvus, Qdrant, Pinecone, pgvector).
  • Solid understanding of system design, distributed systems basics, and cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, or similar).
  • Strong skills in testing, monitoring, and maintaining production services (logging, metrics, alerting, CI/CD).
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup, take ownership, and drive projects from idea to production.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating with non-technical stakeholders.

Nice-to-have

  • Familiarity with multi-tenant SaaS architectures and role-based access control.
  • Experience with event-driven architectures and streaming (e.g., Kafka, Pub/Sub) for ingestion pipelines.
  • Background in security/compliance for enterprise customers (logging, auditability, data residency).
  • Prior startup or early-stage product experience.

Benefits:

  • Health and Life Insurance coverage
  • Paid Leaves as per company policy
  • Annual Increment based on performance evaluation
  • Hands-on practical experience on real projects
  • Supportive and collaborative work environment
