Senior Analyst, Copyediting

The Sr. Analyst, Copyeditor/Writer is responsible for proofreading and editing all communications and/or promotional copy for grammar, punctuation, copy style, clarity, voice, tone and brand standards for a key Aetna strategic client. You’ll ensure that all written print and digital communications are high-quality, error free and aligned with the client’s goals across multiple channels. You’ll provide feedback to internal and external contributors, assign revisions and rewrites as needed.

You’ll also assist with writing assignments as required, ensuring all deliverables are consistent with the client’s quality and consistency standards. You’ll successfully copyedit a range of channel deliverables, including but not limited to print, digital, web and audio/video assets.


You’ll serve as a strategic and trusted partner to the account team, creative and client teams. You’ll exhibit outstanding editorial judgment and achieve the highest possible standards for all materials, regardless of medium. Strong knowledge of the client’s business, voice and style guidelines is essential.


Key responsibilities

  • Possess a deep understanding of the health insurance industry, client’s health benefits products, audiences and business objectives, and execute on copyediting that aligns with the client’s goals

  • Ensure successful execution of all copyediting and writing projects, ensuring they are error free, delivered on time and meet required quality standards

  • Review and edit communications copy/content for clarity, grammar and readability following client voice, tone, and style guidelines

  • Review all written communications, including but not limited to letters, marketing pieces, emails, SMS, video and podcast scripts, website copy, etc. to ensure they’re in plain language, meet reading grade levels, and follow applicable client brand and voice guidelines

  • Contribute suggestions and constructive feedback to writers throughout the review process

  • Routinely update copy for web, email, social, display ads, direct mail and print collateral

  • Work efficiently to ensure that all writing and review assignments meet deadlines

  • Make sure that all web copy adheres to basic HTML and SEO best practices

  • Recommend, research and develop facts, quotes, and scenarios to support writing as needed

  • Execute writing requests with accuracy — implementing edits correctly, confirming facts and trademarks, and performing final proofreading

  • Proactively identify and act on opportunities for operational efficiencies and improvements


Required
qualifications

  • 3+ years of copywriting/editing in a corporate or agency setting

  • 3+ years of health benefits insurance marketing and communication expertise

  • Employee benefits knowledge and experience

  • Experience using plain language techniques to simplify complex content and jargon

  • Ability to deliver constructive, professional feedback to writers

  • Proven experience upholding brand standards and project guidelines

  • Knowledge of/willingness to learn and use AI to proof and/or enhance copy

  • Comfortable managing multiple projects with high standards on tight deadlines

  • Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt style of copy to various audiences, purposes or media

  • Strong organizational skills and an eye for fine detail

  • Comfortable working independently and with a diversity of team members

  • HTML- and SEO-driven copy experience for web and email

  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office

  • Experience working within a CMS (e.g.: WordPress, Joomla, Drupal) a plus

  • Familiarity with design tools (Figma, Adobe Creative Suite) a plus

Education requirements

Bachelor’s degree (preferably in English, marketing, communications, or equivalent work experience)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$46,988.00 - $112,200.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
