Key Responsibilities Capital Financial Management & Governance
Capital Intake & Project Setup- Submit and manage IT hardware lifecycle capital projects in EcoSys, ensuring accuracy and compliance with capital approval guidelines
- Submit WBS request codes in EcoSys and track approvals and readiness for execution
- Create and maintain WBS / capital codes in SAP ERP for approved IT capital projects
- Review capital white papers and supporting documentation; coordinate clarifications and corrections with Project Managers
- Review and validate DOA requirements and route items for appropriate approvals
SAP Execution & Financial Tracking- Ensure accurate cost tracking against approved budgets and project structures in SAP
- Track purchase orders (POs), capital commitments, and forecast alignment
- Manage capital reporting and invoicing aligned to capitalization rules and actual project progress
- Perform CapEx tracking, PO and commitment management, asset capitalization, and support financial close activities
- Reconcile capital tracker vs SAP actuals
Capital Lifecycle Closure- Ensure timely closure of POs and capital projects
- Close open commitments and clear forecast variances
- Ensure completion of asset documentation
- Support proper settlement and capitalization compliance
Project Governance & Coordination- Participate in PM sync calls to track milestones, risks, and dependencies
- Identify financial risks, variances, and control gaps
- Support corrective actions and remediation
- Maintain and update the IT Capital Tracker (status, spend, milestones, timelines)
Compliance & Audit- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, capital guidelines, audit requirements, and internal financial controls
- Support audit cycles (internal/external) with required documentation
- Minimize financial exceptions and audit findings
IT Budget Management – Opex & Capex
Planning & Forecasting- Support Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and forecast cycles
- Consolidate Opex & Capex budgets across IT (~$350M portfolio)
- Coordinate with cost center owners, service towers, and Vendor Management
Performance Monitoring- Track monthly actuals vs budget vs forecast
- Perform run-rate analysis and variance identification
- Provide executive-ready variance commentary
Financial Reporting- Prepare consolidated dashboards and financial summaries for IT leadership
- Support CIO-level financial reviews
- Support vendor spend forecasting and budget alignment discussions
Financial Discipline- Identify funding gaps and reallocation opportunities
- Support cost optimization initiatives
- Ensure alignment between capital approvals and overall IT financial outlook
Financial Governance & Process Improvement (10%)- Identify gaps and improvement opportunities in capital and budget processes
- Support simplification and standardization initiatives
- Improve data integrity across EcoSys and SAP
- Strengthen financial control environment
- Enhance reporting automation and financial transparency
Required Experience & Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- 8–10+ years in Capital Financial Management, IT Financial Operations, Project Finance, or Budget Management in large global organizations
- Strong hands-on SAP ERP experience including:
- WBS creation & maintenance
- CapEx tracking
- PO & commitment management
- Asset capitalization
- Financial close support
- Experience with EcoSys or similar capital project governance tools
- Strong accounting knowledge, especially capital accounting and asset capitalization
- Advanced Excel (reconciliation, pivots, lookups, variance analysis)
- Experience collaborating with global teams across regions/time zones
- Strong communication skills supporting leadership and governance discussions
- Ability to work independently with minimal KT
