Senior Analytics Engineer dbt

Mission

Own the semantic and modeling layer-transforming raw data into clean, well structured, business ready models that power analytics and decision making.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and document dimensional models (facts, dimensions, SCDs).
• Implement dbt (or equivalent) pipelines for transformation and version control.
• Define and manage the metric layer-ensuring consistent logic across teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business concepts into data models.
• Maintain performance, lineage, and testing coverage across all transformations.

Required Skills

• Expert SQL and modeling fluency (Kimball/DW Toolkit principles).
• Experience with dbt or similar transformation frameworks.
• Expert understanding of semantic modeling, grain, conformed dimensions, and metric governance.
• Familiarity with Git workflows and modern data stack tools.

Success Measures

Model test pass rate, time to new metric, data model adoption, and query performance.
