About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Android / Mobile App Developer to build and maintain a production-grade digital signage platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in developing stable, long-running applications for media-heavy environments and be passionate about building high-performance systems.

You will be responsible for developing a 24/7 unattended playback system used across multiple devices and environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a production-grade Android digital signage application
• Build stable 24/7 media playback systems (video, images, animations, playlists)
• Implement seamless playback using ExoPlayer / Media3 (Full HD / 4K)
• Ensure zero-crash operation with auto-recovery and watchdog mechanisms
• Handle background downloads, caching, scheduling, and offline playback
• Integrate backend services using REST APIs, Firebase/WebSockets, JSON
• Implement kiosk mode, device-owner features, and remote device control
• Manage system-level events (boot, network changes, power loss)
• Optimize memory usage, prevent ANRs, and handle long-running processes
• Support Android TV, AOSP devices, and custom hardware
• Collaborate with backend and product teams
• Provide light iOS support if required

Required Skills (Must Have)

• Strong experience in Android (Kotlin / Java)
• Deep understanding of media playback systems
• Experience with ExoPlayer / Media3
• Knowledge of background services & foreground workers
• Experience with Firebase, REST APIs, WebSockets
• Understanding of performance optimization & memory management
• Experience with Git version control

Nice to Have (Bonus)

• iOS experience (Swift / SwiftUI / Objective-C)
• Experience with digital signage or kiosk systems
• Android TV or embedded Android experience
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with automated testing

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 2+ years of professional experience
