Senior Artisan - Welder

Main Objectives

Welds all types of metals, alloys and in various sizes and shapes in fabrication assembly, construction and repairs various Companies’ equipment. Uses acetylene, electric and other welding methods when performing duties. Maintains good safeguarding at workshop at all times.

Main Duties

o Performs general welding tasks, including receiving instructions from supervisors and completing various welding projects to ensure alignment with job requirements and standards.

o Interprets blueprints, drawings, sketches, and welding symbols used in plans to accurately execute plans and produce precise results.

o Lays out work and follows work orders and specifications to ensure each task is done correctly and meets project needs.

o Welds a variety of metals and alloys of different sizes and shapes for the fabrication, assembly, construction, and repair of equipment, pipes, tools, vehicle bumpers, steel boxes, and fixtures, ensuring all work meets Department welding standards and requirements.

o Operates acetylene, electric-arc, MIG, and other welding methods to provide the appropriate welding technique for each specific task.

o Uses a variety of hand tools and equipment necessary for the job, ensuring flexibility and readiness for diverse welding projects.

o Applies knowledge of shop mathematics, metal properties, heat effects, and welding techniques to achieve strong, lasting welds and maintain high-quality standards.

o Maintains a clean and organized workspace throughout the job and upon completion. Adheres to all safety rules and regulations to prevent hazards and ensure a safe work environment.

o Comply with Company's and airport authorities’ health, safety & security requirements.

o Carries out other similar or related duties as directed by the management.

Minimum Requirements

Education:

o Minimum of High school Diploma followed by 2 years vocational training.

Experience:

o Minimum of 4 years’ experience in welding environment using various welding methods.

Other Essential Requirements:

o Good knowledge of written and spoken English.

o Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
