Role Description: Aidan Mattox, a division of the Adrianna Papell Group that has been in business over 20 years, is looking for an experienced and creative Senior Associate Designer to support the Senior Design Director in the creation and execution of both contemporary and luxury eveningwear collections. This role requires a designer with a strong taste level, excellent technical skills, and discipline to work hard and deliver to a high standard. The ideal candidate is talented and has the ability to independently create visually compelling and beautiful designs and the drive to bring projects to 90% completion for review with the Senior Design Director. They should be confident participating in design discussions and able to generate multiple innovative sketches quickly based on an assigned concept or season. This is not an entry level role. Candidates must have experience in design development, garment construction, and communication with overseas factories.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute inspiration and references that are on trend, relevant, and right for the target customer and brand.
• Interpret creative direction from Sr. Design Director and create capsules with multiple design ideas.
• Ability to drape new ideas.
• Create and manage clear, accurate tech packs for factories, including back sketches, fabric placements, and detailed construction notes.
• Communicate high standards of technical execution, print and embroidery placements, and fabric development.
• Review first mockups, samples, and fabric/color, often via email.
• Maintain organized records of development progress, mockups, and line sheets, ensuring timelines are met.
• Attend fittings, take detailed notes, and contribute feedback while maintaining design’s vision and standards.

Qualifications:

• 3–6 years of experience in luxury or contemporary eveningwear design.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Excellent sketching and rendering ability (hand-drawn and digital preferred).
• A team player with a positive attitude and collaborative mindset.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, draping, fabric, and embellishment techniques.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, CADs, and tech pack creation.
• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take full ownership of assigned tasks
• Problem solver and solution oriented.
