Purpose:
The Senior Associate General Counsel provides legal guidance and advice on various regulatory and legal risk-related matters to the Bank’s internal clients, including managers and senior officers, as well as assisting with reviewing and analyzing various key corporate agreements, policies, procedures, and other documents as necessary and within the operating framework of confidentiality, privilege, and service excellence to seek the simplest, most effective solution, advising and assisting the Bank’s business units to achieve their goals.

Specific Responsibilities:
Provide primary support to various business units within the Bank, including but not limited to Member Services, Credit and Collateral, Correspondent Services, Information Security, Affordable Housing/Community Investment and Treasury and Capital Markets.
Assist in the development of voluntary and/or pilot programs and annual review and approval of key Affordable Housing operative and governance documents and related agreements.
Assist in the implementation of Treasury and Capital Markets agreements with counterparties for funding, hedging, or investment management purposes.
Assist with Mortgage Purchase Program related issues.
Assist with Corporate Governance and SEC related issues.
Participate in various system-wide initiatives and working groups, as assigned.
Review and edit Bank Management Policies, as assigned.

Position Requirements:
JD Degree and graduate or undergraduate degree preferably in business management, finance, or accounting.
Admitted to practice law in a state bar, preferably in Indiana.
In depth knowledge of banking and secured transactions required. General knowledge of SEC reporting and commercial and corporate law required. Knowledge of insurance law a plus.
Minimum of eight (8) years legal experience.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of federal housing programs or community/economic development a plus.
Must not have been convicted of any civil or criminal charge that would suggest a risk to Bank security.
Ability to work full-time.
Ability to uphold and model the Bank’s Guiding Principles.
Hiring Range: $154,000 - $182,000
Hiring ranges reflect the base salary that the Bank reasonably expects to pay for a given role and is not inclusive of annual incentive award opportunities, retirement benefits or the value of other health and welfare or other ancillary benefits. We consider many factors when determining base salaries such as individual background and experience, the competitive environment, education, particular skill set(s), and industry and institutional knowledge.
